Well I am one of the lucky first one hundred people to attend the Quick Learn BizTalk 2004 Deep Dive training. John Callaway runs the course and has done a fantastic job putting the content together. If you can get on a course that isn't sold out I totally recommend it.

Well sort of =) my first project while working at has been building BizTalk interfaces at New Zealand Dairy Foods. So a mini case study about it has made it into a local business portal istart, and the infamous Scott Woodgate has even given us some props =) Scotts Blog

Promoted Properties on Schemas used in Envelopes

Woo my first IT related blog moment.

I built an envelope orchestration using http://weblogs.asp.net/jan/archive/2004/03/07/85259.aspx

The orchestration uses envelopes to seperate an incoming file into individual lines to be processed seperately. This is all works great, but I can not promote any properties on the document schema used in the envelope. I kept getting

"The disassembler encountered an envelope that does not contain the body element. "

Yes it is a known bug at MS.

You have to have two schema's one that is used in the pipeline and the other when in the orchestration.

We had the same problem and this is the MS solution.

Make sure you have all these in separate projects.

I.e.

+ schema PROJECT
+ pipeline PROJECT
+ orchestration PROJECT
